East Bay Center Presents a Performance of Schubert's "Die Winterreise"

Richmond, CA - February 9, 2012

East Bay Center is proud to present a performance of Schubert's "Die Winterreise". This demanding and seldom-performed song-cycle will be sung by baritone John Vergin, with accompaniment by pianist, Denise VanLeuven. Using the poetry of Wilhelm Muller, Schubert wrote these dramatic, dark pieces at the end of his life, depicting a journey of the soul through a wintery landscape of sadness, beauty, elation, and despair.
